Does Prostadine Work? What the Evidence Can and Can't Say
Does Prostadine work? We cannot say yes, because no trial of Prostadine exists and its ingredient amounts are not printed. Its best-studied ingredient, saw palmetto, did no better than placebo in large BPH trials. Some people may feel a change, but the evidence cannot show the drops caused it.

Does Prostadine really work for the prostate?
Nobody can show that Prostadine works for the prostate, because the product itself has not been tested in a published trial that we could find.
What exists are studies of single ingredients, mostly at amounts Prostadine does not print. Those results do not transfer to the drops. The table lists the best evidence for each group.
| Ingredient | What we found |
|---|---|
| Saw palmetto | No better than placebo in large BPH trials (Bent et al., NEJM 2006) (Tacklind et al., Cochrane 2012) |
| Pomegranate | Studied in prostate cancer, not BPH; one study had no placebo (Pantuck et al., Clin Cancer Res 2006) |
| Nori, wakame, kelp, bladderwrack | No human trials for the prostate or bladder found |
| Iodine | A nutrient with an upper limit, not a prostate treatment (NIH ODS, Iodine) |
| Shilajit, neem | No prostate trials found; metals and safety questions |
What did the saw palmetto trials find?
The large saw palmetto trials found no benefit over placebo for urinary symptoms from BPH.
One year-long trial of 225 men found no difference from placebo (Bent et al., NEJM 2006). A later trial of 369 men used up to three times the usual amount for 72 weeks, with the same result (Barry et al. (CAMUS), JAMA 2011). A Cochrane review of 32 trials and 5,666 men agreed (Tacklind et al., Cochrane 2012).
These studies used standardized berry extracts. We do not know the form or amount of saw palmetto in Prostadine, so even a positive result could not be applied to it.
The page lists saw palmetto with "Strong antimicrobial" and "Kidney supporting properties". Neither claim comes with a source on the page.
Why might someone feel a change on Prostadine?
Someone may feel a change for reasons that are not the drops. Symptoms of BPH rise and fall, and people often start a product when symptoms are at their worst.
- Natural ups and downs in symptoms over weeks.
- Drinking less in the evening, which a person may do after starting a routine.
- Expectation: believing a product helps can change how symptoms feel.
- A change in another medicine or in the weather, sleep or diet.
No placebo-controlled trial of the drops exists, so there is no way to separate these from an effect of the product. Our results timeline explains how to track symptoms fairly.

FAQ01
Quick answers on whether Prostadine works
Can a supplement shrink an enlarged prostate?
Not that we can show. Prostate drugs from a doctor are the studied option for BPH. Saw palmetto did not beat placebo in large trials, and Prostadine's own effect on prostate size has not been tested. Ask your urologist about proven care.
Is a benefit for urine flow likely with seaweed?
No human trial that we found tested nori, wakame, kelp or bladderwrack for urine flow. The page claims it, but that is a sales statement. Seaweed adds iodine, which matters for the thyroid more than for the bladder.
How will I know if the drops are not working?
If your tracked symptoms look the same at about day 30 and again near day 50, there is no sign of benefit. Decide before day 60, because the guarantee window runs from delivery, then ask the desk about the return steps.
