Prostadine and PSA Test Results: What to Tell Your Doctor
Prostadine and PSA test results have not been studied together. No evidence shows the drops raise or lower PSA, and Prostadine does not claim to. Saw palmetto does not appear to change PSA readings. Tell your doctor about every supplement before a PSA test, so the number is read in context.

Does Prostadine affect a PSA test?
No evidence shows that Prostadine changes a PSA test, and no trial of the drops has measured it. The sales page does not claim a PSA effect either.
The one ingredient with PSA data is saw palmetto, which does not appear to change PSA readings (NCCIH, Saw Palmetto). Pomegranate has PSA studies, but they involved men with prostate cancer, and the juice and extract were not Prostadine (Pantuck et al., Clin Cancer Res 2006).
So the safest reading is "unknown", and that is why your doctor should hear about it. Our prostate basics guide explains the test itself.
| Factor | Effect on PSA |
|---|---|
| Enlarged prostate or infection | Can raise it |
| Recent biopsy or ejaculation | Can raise it |
| Finasteride or dutasteride | Lower it |
| Prostadine | Not studied |
What can raise or lower a PSA number?
Many things besides cancer can change PSA. A level above 4.0 ng/mL is generally treated as abnormal, but BPH, prostatitis, infection, a recent biopsy and vigorous exercise can all raise it, while finasteride and dutasteride lower it (NCI, PSA Test).
False alarms are common. About 6 to 7 percent of men get a false-positive result in a screening round, and only about 25 percent of men biopsied for a high PSA turn out to have cancer (NCI, PSA Test).
This is why a supplement matters to the reading. If a product could shift PSA, the doctor needs to know to avoid a wrong conclusion. Since we cannot rule it out, we tell you to disclose it.
Taking drops does not replace a talk about whether to be tested.
What should you tell your doctor before a PSA test?
Tell your doctor the name of every supplement, its form and its ingredient list. Doing so takes a minute.
- Prostadine, in drop form, with the nine named ingredients.
- How long you have taken it, and whether you stopped before the test.
- Any prostate medicine, since finasteride and dutasteride lower PSA.
- Recent exercise, infection symptoms or a procedure.
Do not stop or start a supplement just to shape a result. Ask the doctor what to do. Keep taking prescribed medicine, and see who the drops are for if you are unsure of fit.
Blood in the urine, fever or chills with painful urination, or severe belly, back or side pain need same-day care. If you cannot pass urine at all, go to the emergency room.

PSA screening is a personal decision to make with a doctor. For men without symptoms or prior prostate cancer, the USPSTF advice described by the CDC is that men aged 55 to 69 should decide after talking with a doctor, and men 70 and older should not be screened routinely (CDC, Prostate Cancer Screening).

FAQ01
Quick answers on Prostadine and PSA
Should I stop Prostadine before a PSA blood draw?
Ask your doctor, since no rule exists for this product. Many clinics want to know what you take more than they want you to stop. Do not change prescribed medicines. Report the drops and let the clinician decide.
Can Prostadine hide a rising PSA?
No study shows it does, and no one should rely on a supplement to lower the number. A rising PSA needs a doctor's review. Using drops to feel in control can delay a visit that matters, so keep testing decisions with your clinician.
Is a normal PSA a sign Prostadine is working?
No. PSA is a screening marker, not a measure of urinary comfort or of any supplement. A normal result says little about the drops. Judge any product by your symptoms and by what your doctor finds.
